Quick Update
It’s been almost 2 weeks without an update, so I figured I’d make a quick post…
Classes have been a little crazy lately, but that hasn’t stopped me from getting involved in a few projects. I recently upgraded the Macbook Pro to 4 GB of RAM, and have a 60 GB OCD Vertex SSD and Samsung 640 GB HDD sitting on my table ready to be installed. I’m just waiting on an optibay [link] knockoff I bought on eBay for a fraction of the cost ($18 shipped), and then I’ll be ripping the computer apart and installing it all. Additionally, I ordered a 12-in-1 Expresscard/34 memory card adapter to keep in the MBP at all times. For probably the first time on a hardware upgrade, I plan on documenting the entire install and posting a tutorial on here once it’s all complete. Once it’s all done, the MBP will be up to spec for the web development I plan on doing on it, and will be the fastest computer I’ve ever owned.
I’ll also be posting some of the code I’ve been writing for my CS 311 – Operating Systems class soon. Most of it has to do with system synchronization across threads using various methods (Mutexes, Semaphores, Monitors).
Check back in the next week as I finish up the install and do a write up for it.
Update: Don’t take this to mean I’m completely narcissistic, but I do Google myself from time to time to see how my various sites link to my name, and where they rank on the searches. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that when typing “marc b” my name is the second suggested search term. Check it out below.

Congrats on the google search man. Something tells me I don’t stand a chance for that with my name. Keep me updated on the OS stuff – that was my favorite class I’ve taken.
